An amazing coffee and pastry shop hidden in on the border of Roscoe Village and North Center just past the L line in an unassuming white building. We tried the Emmie & Banana Chocolate Sourdough Muffin baked goods. The Emmie has a crispy outside and soft inside. While the Banana Chocolate Sourdough Muffin was incredibly moist. For coffee we had the Kyoto Cold Brew & Marranitos Latte which was a special. I highly recommend ordering the Marranitos Latte if it's still available. The staff was super friendly and took time to answer all our questions while the shop itself has a very calming vibe with great music. You can also look into the bakery itself adjacent to the dining area.

I really enjoyed it here. The place has great calming aesthetic--really nice warm lighting and overall an open, airy environment. I tried the caramel special, and it did not disappoint. It wasn't too sweet and came in a cute wooden cup. We came on a Sunday afternoon with a group of 5 and didn't have to wait for a seat. Also a solid place to get work done. Overall, I'd be back and will try the small bites next time.

Came by on a weekend morning. There was a very short line when the cafe opened but they kept the line moving quickly. Interior seating was a bit hard to come by. They didn't have all the pastries out right when they opened so I would actually recommend coming a little bit later. The mole croissant was delicious - a chocolate croissant with some depth. Overall a cute cafe and worth checking out.

What a cute little pastry and coffee shop! No outside signage so when the ride share driver dropped us off I was a bit worried. Went inside and worries were put to rest. Such a cute little shop that just screams "pride of ownership." Our group of 4 ordered coffee and picked out pastries to share. We LOVED THEM ALL and went back and ordered more. Pastries are freshly baked onsite and all have unique flavors. Service was really good too. What a nice place to come and treat yourself!

The pineapple sourdough muffin is what sourdough dreams are made of. Super moist laced with chunks of pineapple throughout. Great energy in this cozy space which is perfect for meeting up with friends to share pastries over a strong cup of coffee.

Be prepared to come early enough so they don't run out of the yummy pastries that you can't quite find anywhere else! This is a small, low key and super casual bakery, and has some seating indoors. It has multiple locations but this one is just off the train station and they have delicious pastries (gluten free options available!) I didn't order any drinks but the pastries were delicious and some so dense that they can really fill you up! This was the case for the TROPICAL sourdough muffin (4/5*) and the PINEAPPLE sourdough (3/5*) muffin. My ultimate favorite was the CHEESE KOUIGN AMANN (5/5*) - perfect mix of sweet and savory. Staff is super friendly and they had plenty of staff to take order and serve. Will definitely be back to enjoy some more baked goods next time I'm in town!

Wowowowow! Loba came highly recommended by the staff at Ethos Gym next door. After a pretty intense workout at 9am in the morning on a rainy Sunday, all I wanted was some coffee afterwards. This is a pretty legit, basic (in the best way) coffeehouse. You won't find blended surgery concoctions here, or 179 different syrup flavors. This is a tried and true coffee establishment. Order 2 Turkish Delight iced lattes. Amazing. Very cool ingredients (which included pistachio milk) and roses sprinkled on top. We also had 2 muffins. I LOVED the coconut sourdough and my husband loved the banana chocolate. For such a cool place, the baristas were super nice - I was definitely not expecting that! We will be back for sure since reality totally lived up to the hype.

My first visit to Loba Pastry was on a Sunday and I ended up on line next to a girl who had been there the day before but was back again because it was so good. She talked highly of the sesame bun which is only available on Saturdays (I will be back on a Saturday) and also seemed to like their coffee. I get it - I loved all the pastries I got at Loba (and I got quite a few) and I will absolutely be back. They are such high quality pastries and so delicious and the only thing keeping me from going more often is a desire to moderate my pastry intake for health reasons. Otherwise, I would be here all the time. I got the sesame emie, fennel twist, black mole croissant, and hot cross buns and that's probably the order of what I liked from best to least. But to be clear, I enjoyed everything and would recommend everything. The sesame emie had a crunch and was so well flavored and absolutely would be something I got again. The worker described it as similar to a French canele. The fennel twist was sweet but not at all overwhelmingly and so delicious. Mole croissant filling was yummy and such a high quality croissant. I have never had a hot cross bun so I guess I can't compare but it was very fun and huge. Honestly I wish I had a better vocabulary to describe how good these pastries are but I do not know the right technical terms. You simply have to go and try them.
